Enjoy Making Art with Rebecca Hafdahl Meloy painter / printer from Bellingham, WA. A working artist since 1982, Rebecca has shown her work locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. In 2003, she was Artist in Residence at the Nelimarkka Museum in Finland, Europe.

Classes

Year 'Round Studio -- for Adults, Teens, or Youth | Experience working side by side with Rebecca in her studio.

$96 for (4) two hour sessions.

Private Tutoring | Individuals are encouraged to inquire about private tutoring/mentoring with Rebecca. Limited space. Contact Rebecca for more details and enrollment.

$25 per hour.

Print Making 101 | Introduction to print making. Taught through the "Continuing Education" program at WCC -- adults only. Drawing, 3-D | Learn to draw objects and buildings using various 3-d techniques. Taught through the "Continuing Education" program at WCC -- adults only. Painting Outdoors | A new workshop for adults to be offered during summer 2007. Taught through the "Continuing Education" program at WCC -- adults only.

Camps

Summer Art in the Garden Camp -- June, July, August | This summer, make art with Rebecca Meloy and her corgi, Rowdy, in their award winning organic flower garden.* Since 1994, students have been enjoying the freedom and space to explore plein air painting, relief printing, drawing, simple sculpture, and crafts in their charming Columbia neighborhood secret garden. Limited space. Price includes supplies.

    Half day classes | 9:00am-12:00pm or 1:00pm-4:00pm
    • $36 per half day (3 hours)
    • $180 per half-day week (15 hours)

    Full day classes | 9:00am-4:00pm

    • $72 per full day (7 hours)
    • $360 per full day week (35 hours)

*The garden received awards from the Whatcom in Bloom local competition, was featured in a Whatcom Horticultural Society garden tour, has been seen on regional television in a half hour program, and in April 2002 it appeared in the Country Homes, Country Gardens national magazine.

Winter Break Art Camp | Experience working side by side with Rebecca in her studio. Enroll by the day. Space is limited to four students per day. Class is held 10:00am-2:00pm.

Workshops

Workshops for Schools, Groups, Non-Profit Organizations | Rebecca is available to teach at public and private schools, home school, nonprofit organizations, community organizations, and camps with 'Artist in Residency' workshops. Classes are custom-tailored to your student's needs and these classes may be taught to students of any age. Contact Rebecca for more details, scheduling, specifics, and enrollment.

    Workshop concepts:
    • Drawing figures, animals, portraits with charcoal, pens, pencils, pastels
    • Painting with tempera, oil, watercolor
    • 3D Art Workshop with paper

$90 for a two hour workshop. A deposit is required upon scheduling a workshop. Price does not include art supplies. Rebecca is an also an Allied Arts Education Project instructor and is available to teach the following workshops:
